Allan Xia
Allan Xia is a 1.5 generation Chinese New Zealand artist and creative entrepreneur whose work spans illustration, comics, game development, VR and many other disciplines and mediums. He is the director of Kognika - a boutique Auckland-based creative agency.
Allan is also the founder and director of Chromacon, a biennial New Zealand indie arts festival that connects kiwi illustrators, comic artists, animators, sculptors, game developers and their original works with the wider community. The 2019 festival featured 200 exhibitors from New Zealand and abroad as well as 11,500+ visitors.
Outside of the festival, Chroma helps kiwi creatives connect with the world as an independent arts label, producing original work, fostering collaborations via distribution and exchange with Asia. Allan has extensive experience bridging cultural and creative collaboration between China and New Zealand via Sino-New Zealand Film Production, videogame publishing and localisation and artistic exchange.
