Claire Achmad
Chief Children's Commissioner - Te Kaikōmihana Matua
Dr Claire Achmad is New Zealand's Chief Children's Commissioner.
She was previously the General Manager of Advocacy at Barnados NZ.
She is a a child rights and human rights legal and policy specialist with experience in Asia-Pacific and Europe. She has played a leading role in “15+15 Dialogues” between young Indonesians and New Zealanders, run by the Asia New Zealand Foundation and Indonesia’s Habibie Center. Achmad, who has Indonesian heritage, is also a member of the Foundation’s Leadership Network.
