Eva Nisa

Senior Lecturer in Religious Studies and Anthropology

Eva Nisa is an Adjunct Research Fellow in Religious Studies, School of Social and Cultural Studies, Victoria University of Wellington. She is also a Senior Lecturer in Anthropology, School of Culture, History and Language, Australian National University.

Her current research interests focus on global politics of moderate Islam, women and transnational Islamic and Islamist movements, the role of Muslim youth in spreading diverse voices of Islam, Internet and social media and diverse forms of piety, Islamic contemporary literature, Qur'anic exegesis, Islamic feminism, Rohingya refugees and migrant workers, Islamic economy, philanthropy and middle-class Muslims, Muslim fashion, Islam and popular culture, reformation in Islamic law and Muslim female judges, Muslim Marriage and Divorce, Muslims in Asia and Pacific.
