Joanna Mossop
Joanna Mossop is a Professor with the Law Faculty at Victoria University of Wellington. Her research is focused on the law of the sea and her publications have covered topics including the South China Sea arbitration, regulation of the continental shelf, marine biodiversity in areas beyond national jurisdiction, whaling in the Southern Ocean, maritime security, and fishing.
Her book, The Continental Shelf Beyond 200 Nautical Miles: Rights and Responsibilities (Oxford University Press, 2016) jointly won the JF Northey Memorial Prize for the best legal book by a New Zealand author published in 2016.
Joanna has served on the Executive Council and as the Vice President of the Australian and New Zealand Society of International Law. She is on the editorial or advisory board of a number of journals, including the new Zealand Yearbook of International Law and the Asia Pacific Journal of Oceans Law and Policy.
